Nursery Staff

We are an inclusive nursery group and do our very best to provide for all our children’s needs as well as the needs of the parents. Our nursery family staff team understand that all children are individuals and as such all bring something special and unique to our setting. We are also passionate and dedicated and are lead by Duty Manager, Donna M. Most have been with us since the nursery opened and the team as a whole average 12 years service at the nursery.

Staff Training

Ongoing training is extremely important to us, as this further enhances the children's welfare and development.

We provide one Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCO’s) dedicated to working with children with additional needs. They specialise in promoting positive behaviour, inclusive practice and are trained in arranging early support for children prior to entering a main stream school.

We have a fully trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who oversees children’s well-being and arranges extra support should a family need it.

All our Early Years Practitioners hold a minimum recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development, however the majority of staff hold a Level 3, 4 and 5. We also have two staff who hold a Level 6 BA Honours Degree in Education and Learning Support.

Peace of Mind

All Staff are checked using the Disclosure and Barring service (DBS). We check all new staff when we recruit at enhanced disclosure level. All staff must subscribe to the ‘update service’ which enables a check to be made at any time during their employment with us. We make regular checks using this service in line with our safe recruitment policy.

It is our policy that all staff are trained in Paediatric First Aid and Child Protection every 3 years. The Management Team are trained as Fire Marshals and the whole team practices regular safe evacuation from the building.
